Still Brae is a romantic and historic cottage, Built in 1745 as the home of the manager of the local whisky distillery, Still Brae, 'the place by the stream', combines the charm of such traditional features as the Jacobean four poster in the master bedroom and the splendid original stone wall in the lounge, with all the modern conveniences you could desire, from dishwasher to wifi and Sky TV. 

First floor

Area description

The picturesque village of Tarbet is the perfect setting for a memorable holiday, and makes the perfect base to explore this beautiful area of Scotland. Tarbet has all the amenities you will require, including a tea room, post office and Tourist information Centre. There are larger shops and restaurants at Arrochar, which is 2 miles away. Situated in the very heart of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, but only 45 minutes from Glasgow Airport and the city centre.

Its quiet and idyllic setting also benefits from easy road and rail access to many of Scotland's most famous sights, from Stirling Castle, Rob Roy Country, Oban or Glencoe to the Harry Potter steam train.

For the more active, a range of water sports can be enjoyed on the loch. Golf, pony trekking and fishing are all available locally. There are also some fantastic walking routes in the surrounding area, from gentle lochside strolls, to more strenuous hill walks, such as an ascent of the mighty Ben Lomond or the famous peaks of Arrochar Alps.
